Klára’s journey

Having been living with the Infant Jesus Sisters in Brno for the past year, I am now taking another step on my journey forward with the Sisters. During the coming year, while continuing with my youth ministry in Brno with reduced hours, I will be participating in a periodic inter-congregational formation programme in England.

I look forward to this opportunity for new growth at a personal level, together with a deeper understanding of religious life, including our IJS spirituality and the ways in which God may be desiring to lead me.

What has been striking me most in recent times is a sense of the unity of my life, with “contemplation and action permeating each other” as it says in our Book of the Institute. I feel very strongly that really everything is speaking to us about God and whatever we are doing or experiencing can help us to grow towards this loving God. For this reason I see the year ahead, with its diversity of activities and stimuli, as a great challenge and opportunity. My desire is that it may lead me to an experience of deeper union with God and that all of my life may grow to be rooted in this loving God. In the process, I hope also to move into the deeper meaning of religious life in general, as well as a deeper understanding of our spirituality, together with ways of living it at this time in history.

Again and again I continue to be amazed as I come to notice the ways in which the Holy Spirit is working in and through me as well as around me.

As I look back I can see how true for my life are the words of Jesus: “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you...“  A few years ago I could hardly imagine myself making such a decision - it seemed inconceivable and much too demanding. Yet to be honest, somewhere lurking inside me it was the deepest desire of my heart and I am really happy that I found courage to listen to it.
